10200: MI - MICR5 - The Agreement Number

Michigan

What is the Agreement number that is showing on my MICR5?

The Agreement number is found in the lower-right corner of each agreement. A letter may be added to indicate that an agreement was split into multiple agreements. The final eight numbers change when the agreement is reduced or extended. Be sure to use the agreement number on the most recently recorded agreement.

The agreement number consists of three parts:

  1. County Code
  2. Contract Number
  3. Expiration Date

Each part of the agreement number requires a specified number of digits:

  1. County Code - 2 digits
  2. Contract Number - 6 digits
  3. Expiration Date - 8 digits

Particularly in the contract number you may have to precede the numbers on your contract with a zero in order to meet the required number of digits for that part.

For example, 14-12345-12312022 would be keyed as follows in data entry:

County Code Contract Number Expiration Date
14 012345 12312022

The Expiration Date must be keyed as MMDDYYYY. Alpha characters are not accepted in the expiration date area of the agreement number when e-filing a return.

See the Schedule CR5 Instructions for details.
