10192: MO - Create MO-PTC Without a 1040

Missouri

How can I create a Missouri MO-PTC without a 1040?

Some Missouri residents may be eligible to receive a property tax credit, even if they are not required to file Form MO-1040.

Note: This produces a stand-alone form that must be mailed

To produce an MO - PTC for Property Tax or Homestead Preservation Credit:

  1. Go to States > MO and open screen PTC - Property Tax Credit (Standalone) (on the Property Taxes tab).
  2. At the top of the PTC screen, select the MO-PTC (mail only; income can't be negative) option.
  3. If the taxpayer is less than 65 years of age, he or she must otherwise qualify. Select a box under Qualifications:
    • 100% disabled veteran (taxpayer or spouse)
    • 100% disabled (taxpayer or spouse)
    • 60 years of age or older and receiving surviving spouse benefits (PTS and PTC only).
  4. In the Property Tax Credit section, there must be an amount in line 11 (PTS) or line 9 (PTC) Real Estate Tax Paid.

The taxpayer must be MO resident.

If Form MO - PTC is not produced, you can select Force print of form even if not qualified and review the form to determine why it was not automatically produced.
