Why can I not get question F on the NY201 to print the number of months of residency?
To get the number of months to print in those boxes, you must have a valid NY city name and a valid NY city school district number entered on federal screen 1.
The five valid counties and school codes are
- Bronx (Bronx County - 068)
- Brooklyn (Kings County - 071)
- Manhattan (New York County - 369)
- Queens (Queens County - 519)
- Staten Island (Richmond County - 622)
If the taxpayer and/or spouse are part-year city residents, you will need to do the following:
- Go to Federal screen 1 (Name and Address) and change the Resident City to PY.
- Go to NY > screen 1 and enter the month and day of the resident period under section F for taxpayer and/or spouse.
