11150: Bottom of 1040 Does Not Print

When I print a 1040, the bottom of both pages is cut off. The 1040A and 1040EZ print OK. I have updated the software, adjusted margins and tried both the Preferred and Alternate print methods, but why will this still not print as expected?

 This is a limitation of the printer itself. Since margin adjust does not work, you will have to adjust printer properties and change the paper to “legal” size instead of “letter” size, but leave the 8 ½ X 11 paper in the tray. This will trick the printer into thinking it has more room to print.

How you adjust printer properties may vary with your operating system and printer. Generally, to adjust printer properties, in Control Panel, double click Printers or Devices and Printers icon (or open a link that displays your installed printers). Locate the printer, right click the printer icon, and then select Properties from the drop list. Look for a Printing Preferences link or a tab dealing with paper sizes. For the printer tray you are using, select Legal (8.5” X 14”). Save the new setting by clicking OK or Save until you exit the Properties screen.

Note: If you have not resolved a printer issue after exhausting printer settings and Drake Software settings, install the latest printer driver available for your operating system. Review your printer instruction manual or your vendor website for more information.
