Where is the CA Renters Credit located in Drake Tax?
To locate the CA Renters Credit in Drake Software from within data entry, go to the States tab and select CA. Then select the Credits tab and select NRC Nonrefundable renter’s credit screen.
The CA Renter's Credit is nonrefundable, so it is limited to the amount of tax on the return. To view the calculation, review the Schedule P. If you do not see a Schedule P in View/Print mode, you can force it to print by going to the P screen in CA data entry. A note will generate in View/Print mode if the credit is being calculated but is not carrying to the main CA form.
