12106: OK - Form 511TX Credit for Taxes Paid to Another State

Oklahoma

An OK return displays a note about line 4 of the OK 511 and the OK 511TX. How do I sort this out?

When a credit for taxes paid to another state is being calculated and there is an amount for an out of state income exclusion, verify amounts on Form 511, line 4 and Form 511TX. The amount shown on line 4 of the OK 511 should not duplicate an amount included in the 511TX. To confirm that you are not filing a doubled tax credit, review instructions for Forms OK 511 and 511TX. Generally, Form 511, line 4 should show real or tangible personal property or business income from another state, while Form 511TX deals with income from personal services in another state, including wages and gambling income.

Note: Form OK511TX will not produce when the taxpayer/spouse is a PY resident. To generate the form, in OK data entry, go to the Credits tab, and complete the TX - Credit for Taxes Paid Another State screen. Once this screen is completed for each applicable state (Page Down for a new screen), Form 511TX will produce in the View mode of the return.
