14033: Standard Reports - Pending, Rejected, and Accepted

Standard Reports

What kind of reports are available related to e-filing status?

Pending

The standard report, "1040 Returns Pending," available under Reports > Report Manager > EF/Bank Reports > EF - Status and Tracking, shows all returns that have ever been electronically submitted and that received a pending acknowledgement. This searches in your local EF database for returns that have had a P acknowledgment returned at any time. A subsequent acceptance does not remove the return from this report. If you are looking for returns that were e-filed but have not yet been accepted, continue below.

Rejected (Never Accepted)

There are three standard reports in the Drake Tax Report Manager that will quickly identify individual, business or state returns that have been e-filed, but were never accepted.

  1. Go to Reports > Reports Manager. In the list of reports, click EF/Bank Reports to expand the list. From the list, click EF Status & Tracking to expand the list again. From this list, select one of these reports:
    • 1040 Returns Rejected (Never Accepted)
    • Business Returns Rejected (Never Accepted)
    • State Returns Rejected (Never Accepted)
  2. Click the View Report button (or double-click your selection).
  3. Answer Yes to the prompt to create a report using current data. (This prompt only occurs if the report has been previously run.)
  4. The Basic Search Conditions window opens. Click Continue (no change is necessary in basic search conditions).
  5. The selected report is displayed.

Accepted

If you want a list of returns that have been accepted, follow these steps instead:

  1. Go to Reports > Reports Manager. In the list of reports, click EF/Bank Reports to expand the list. From the list, click EF Status & Tracking to expand the list again. From this list, select one of these reports:
    • 1040 Returns Accepted
    • Business Returns Accepted
    • State Returns Accepted

Online Database

Drake also provides an online EF database. This database is a robust reporting tool that allows you to run reports on pending, accepted, and rejected state and federal returns and extensions.

To access your online EF database either press F10 from the EF Database in the Drake program (EF > Search EF Database) or, from the program’s Home window, click Support > Drake Software Support Website, sign in using your login credentials, and go to Reports > EF Database.

Once in the Online EF Database, select Returns to run reports on returns. For more information, see the Drake Software User’s Manual.

EF Selection Reports

To print EF Selection Reports, from the Drake Tax home window, click Reports > Report Viewer > EF Selection Reports. Double-click on the report to see a list of returns that were selected to be e-filed on that date and time.

To verify that a particular return was actually e-filed, see Related Links below.
