How do I get my paid preparer's signature to show at the bottom of CA tax returns?
The global option to enable the Alternative Electronic Signature option for all CA return types is located under Setup > Options > States > CA. Select Enable Alternative signature option (All packages). Click OK to save your selection.
On a return-by-return basis, you can select to enable the alternative electronic signature in CA data entry by selecting Yes for Enable Alternative Electronic Signature on the applicable screen as follows:
- Individual return: CA 540 screen.
- Estate return: CA 541 screen.
- Corporation: CA 100 screen.
- S Corporation: CA 100S screen.
- Partnership: CA 565 screen.
- Tax Exempt: CA screen 1.
