How can I clear Kentucky EF Message 1217 in a 1040 return? 

KY EF Message 1217 states: 

State ID numbers on Kentucky withholding statements must be present and be a maximum of six digits in length. Please check the KY state ID numbers on any W-2, W-2G, 1099-G, 1099-R, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, 1099-M and/or 1099-K in this return.

In addition, the Kentucky corporate account number entered for a Limited Liability Entity must be exactly six digits in length. Verify the account number entered on the KY LTC, LLET or 725 screens.

If there is no Payer State ID number on the income source document enter 000000. It must be six 0's to clear this message.  

This EF message may be caused by a missing or invalid State ID or corporate account number.  

To clear this message, you will need a State ID in any of the following screens that contain data: W2, W2G, 99G, 1099, DIV, 8949, or 99K. The KY State ID numbers cannot exceed 6 digits in length. 

Note: Screen 99K is a state only screen that is located at the bottom on the States tab of data entry.

If there is a KY 725 form for a Single Member LLC, a 6 digit Kentucky corporate account number may be needed. If so, it should be entered on the 725 screen in KY. This screen can be accessed by going to KY Data Entry > SMLLC tab > 725 screen. If the account number is not known, you can contact the KY Department of Revenue at 502-564-8139 for assistance in retrieving the number.
