In a Partnership or S corporation return with Federal and Pennsylvania K1s, why is it that each time I view the return, the number of PA K1s increases?
This issue typically appears in returns when the rounding partner option is used on the Federal K1 screen, and the rounding partner selected is not the last one entered.
Solution:
- On the federal K1 screen, clear the Rounding Partner (1065) or Make this Shareholder the Rounding Shareholder (1120S) option box.
- Delete all the PA K1 screens.
- Recalculate the return.
- Re-select the rounding partner or rounding shareholder option.
- (Recommended). Go to the main data entry screen and press Ctrl+Shift+R to remove unnecessary files that may have been created.
In an 1120S return, EF Message 0444 can be generated by this duplication issue and is fixed by following the steps above.
