Preparers who offer bank products in Illinois should note the following:
Starting in 2017, the only fees that can be charged by Illinois EROs are tax preparation fees.
- Drake Software does not charge a technology fee in the State of Illinois (exception, see below).
- Preparers do not have the option to charge additional fees (i.e., no service bureau fees, add-on fees, etc.).
- Some bank partners may offer limited products, or not have a program in the state of Illinois.
- Preparers are able to offer Protection Plus products.
