How do I clear EF message 0028?

 

UT EF Message 0028 states:

Invalid Withholding ID You have entered an invalid Utah Withholding ID. Please click on the link in the calc screen and change your data entry before efiling.

On IRS W2, W2G, 8949, and 1099 forms, the Utah Withholding ID should consist of 11 digits followed by the suffix "WTH" for a total of 14 characters.

To clear this message review data entry screens:

  • W2 - box 15 - Employer's state ID number
  • W2G - box 13 - Payer's state ID number
  • 8949 - box 15 - State ID number
  • 1099 - box 15 - Payer State Number
  • DIV - box 15 - State ID number
  • INT - box 16 - State ID number
  • 99G - box 10b - State ID number
  • 99M - box 17 - Payer's state no.
  • OID - box 13 - State ID number

Utah requires that the state ID number must be 11 digits followed immediately by "WTH". There can be no spaces, hyphens, or any other characters between the first 11 digits and the "WTH."
