2019.03.12 - Drake18 Updates

General Program Update 34

  • General program update.

1040 Update 36

  • A program update prevents a parse error on Schedule E. The absolute value will now flow to line 28(j) of Schedule E when negative amounts are entered on screen K1P or K1S (“Additional entries” tab) with codes “JA,” “JB,” “JC,” and “JD.” (TotalPrtshpSCorpLossAmt / USAmountNNType)
  • The “Nondeductible expenses and oil and gas depletion deductions in excess of stock basis” override field on the “Shareholder’s Debt Basis Information” screen (K1S screen, “Basis Worksheet” tab) now functions as expected. Prior to this update, entries in this field were disregarded.
  • Line 1 of screen 8801 will now accept a negative number. Prior to this update, a negative number could not be directly entered.
  • The S corporation basis worksheet can now be attached to a 1040 return when zero (“0”) is entered as stock basis on screen K1S (“Basis Worksheet” tab). Prior to this update, if the stock basis was “0,” the worksheet could not be attached.
  • The program now recognizes entries on line 9b, “State income tax,” and line 9c, “Miscellaneous investment expenses,” of screen 8960. Prior to this update, entries in those fields were disregarded if the taxpayers didn’t itemize.
  • The “Payment Method” column on the Calculation Results window will now be blank when the full amount of the overpayment has been applied to next year’s estimated taxes.

1120S Update 19

  • General program update.

  • The correct amount of foreign deductions allocated and apportioned at the partnership level, general category, will be printed on line 16 (with code “N”) of Schedule K-1 (Form 1065).

Arkansas Update 12

  • Partnership Package:

    • An update allows EF Message 0091 to be cleared to make a return eligible for e-file when Form 2440, Disability Income Exclusion, applies only to disabled spouse. A "TS" drop list was added to screen 2440 for this purpose.
    • EF Message 0010 will no longer be generated when "5 - Married Filing Separately on the same return" is selected from the "Filing Status Override" drop list on DC screen 1.
