16499: NY - IT-241 Clean Heating Fuel Credit

If NY Form IT-241 form is not being produced in View/Print mode, first verify your entries for Part 1.

Go to the States tab > NY > IT Credits 100 - 200 Series tab > 241 Clean Heating Fuel Credit > Link to data entry screen for Form IT-241, Part 1 - Purchase of bioheat that qualifies for the credit. Make sure you have entered the date of purchase, number of gallons, and percentage of biodiesel per gallon of bioheat.  

• Must be at least 6% to qualify for credit.
• Percentage should be entered as a whole number, not a decimal.
• VARIOUS is not an acceptable entry for the purchase date.

 If the IT-241 is still not being produced, review the answer to the bribery question (States > NY > General > MISC > item E)

If this question is unanswered,  EF Message 0522 is produced:

NY FORM IT-201-ATT (or IT-203_ATT) CREDITS DISALLOWED​: because you have not answered Item E, the Bribery question, on NY screen MISC

The question regarding "Have you (or an entity of which you are an owner) been convicted of Bribery involving Public Servants and Related Offenses, Corrupting the Government, or Defrauding the Government (NYS Penal Law Article 200, 496, or section 195.20)" has not been answered.  As a result, some refund and nonrefundable credits have been disallowed.

Resolution:

- Return to data entry

- Go to NY screen MISC, read and answer the bribery question

If the question is answered "Yes", the credit is disallowed.
