How do I access the log file and exception message when there is an application error?
If you get an Application Error with the message "Error: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object," leave the message open on your computer and call Drake Support at (828) 524-8020. This is an example of the message box you may be seeing:
Drake Support will need the details listed in the log file to assist you further. They will instruct you to either click Open Log Folder or to use the option Send Error.
- Open Log Folder: The “Open Log Folder” button opens the log folder in a new explorer window. From that folder, you can choose the log file and review it or send it to support.
- Send Error: The “Send Error” button, opens a pre-filled email in your Windows default email provider. If you do not have a Windows default email set up, the Send Error button will display a message page. You would then need to use the option Open Log folder instead and create a new email using your email provider.
