What is the purpose of the “Do not use MACRS % tables” field on the 4562 detail screen?
Help for this field (press F1) provides this explanation:
- An X in this field may produce results that differ from what the software would calculate using the MACRS tables in the appendix of Publication 946, How to Depreciate Property.
- An I is used for Qualified Indian Reservation Property.
Note: You can directly override system calculations by entering the amount you need in the Override regular depreciation field(s).
