How do I clear WI EF Message 1052 in a part-year or nonresident WI tax return?
WI EF Message 1052:
1NPR - INVALID RESIDENCY STATUS
This EF Message is produced when a residency status has not been selected for the taxpayer (or spouse, if applicable) on the WI DEMO screen. To correct this message you can do the following:
- From the WI data entry menu, select the DEMO screen.
- The DEMO screen is broken into two parts:
- Top half of the screen is for the Taxpayer
- Bottom half of the screen is for the Spouse.
- Select the applicable residency status for the taxpayer (and spouse if applicable).
- After selections have been made, view the return to ensure the EF message is cleared.
