How do I clear red EF Message 5484 on an individual return?
Federal EF Message 5484 states:
DATA ENTRY CONFLICT: You have entries on screen 3, line 2b, and you have filled out the INT screen. There should not be entries in both places.
If the return will be e-filed, return to data entry, and either remove the entry on screen 3, line 2b, and complete an INT screen, or delete the INT screens and put all interest on screen 3, line 2b.
To resolve this EF Message:
- Return to Data Entry, remove the entries from Screen 3, Line 2b (line 8a in 2017 and prior) and complete the INT screen, or create a new one, if applicable, with the entered amounts.
