How do I resolve EF Message 5229?
EF Message 5229 states:
INVALID SCHEDULE E SCREEN: Schedule E must have either income or expenses. Income can be entered directly on Schedule E, or can be carried from a 1099-MISC.
If the Schedule E was entered in error, delete the screen (press Ctrl+D from within the screen).
This message appears when there are no entries for either
- Rent income,
- Royalties from oil, gas, mineral, copyright, or patent, OR
- ·one of the expenses fields.
To clear this message, go to screen E - Rent and Royalty Income, click on the Income/Expenses tab, and make entries in the appropriate fields.
