You can download and install available versions of Drake Tax and Drake Accounting through the Drake Download Center. Installing from the Drake Software Support website ensures that you are installing the most up-to-date version of the program. You can install Drake Tax and DAS on a networked or stand-alone computer. See Network Setup for details.

Some states have implemented restrictions on what information is allowed to be transferred over from year-to-year. See Drake Tax – State Update Limitations for details.

There are four basic steps to e-filing. Complete, select, and transmit the return, then process acks. See Drake Tax – e-Filing a Return for details.

Drake Software provides several ways to verify that a return has been e-filed and accepted. See Drake Tax – Return Status: Checking Acknowledgments and Drake Tax – Search EF Database, Common Acks, and Rejection Codes for details.

You can use Form 9325 or the EF Notice page to notify the taxpayer that their return has been accepted. See Drake Tax – Form 9325 or EF Notice: Notifying a Taxpayer after IRS Acceptance for details.

Once a return has been processed by the IRS, taxpayers can check their refund status online. See Drake Tax – Where's My Refund or Amendment for more information and links.
