If you previously used Drake Zero, you can now renew as a Drake Tax Online (DTO) customer. Drake Tax Online is our new web-based tax preparation software. For more information about Drake Tax Online, see Drake Tax Online - Overview.

If you are ready to renew, follow these steps.

1. You will receive an email with a link to the renewal page. Click the link and log in using your SSO credentials (username and password previously used for Drake Zero).

2. Select if you would like to purchase returns now or pay for returns as needed.*

   • If you select Yes, purchase returns now, continue to step 3.

   • If you click No, I’ll pay for returns as needed, you will be asked to confirm your choice by clicking Continue without returns, skip to step 5 below. Please note that this means you are choosing to pay the retail price for returns as you need them throughout the season.

3. Enter the number of individual returns that you need, then click Next.*

4. Enter the number of business returns that you need, then click Next.*

5. Select whether you need to purchase access for any additional users and click Next.

   Tip  You can choose to purchase additional users later.

6. Select any additional products that you may need, such as license to use TheTaxBook WebLibrary or Drake Portals, then click Next. If you do not need any other products, click Skip.

7. Verify your information, review and agree to the license agreement, and click Continue to payment.

8. Enter your payment details and click Pay.

9. Review your purchase details and submit your order.

10. You will receive an email confirmation. See Drake Tax Online - Logging in and Using the Dashboard for your next steps.

*Pricing and Discounts

• Please note that if you do not purchase any returns up front, or if you do not purchase enough to lock in a discounted rate, this means you are choosing to pay the retail price for returns as you need them throughout the season.

• Your price-per-return is shown for each level, so you can see the savings. If you need additional returns later, you can purchase more at that locked-in rate (rates differ for individual vs. business returns). By stepping up to a higher tier, you can maximize savings and, in some cases, reduce your overall cost.

• Unused tax year 2025 returns can be used to file tax year 2025 returns until December 31, 2028 (if you maintain an active Drake Tax Online license).
