These are database validation errors which cannot be corrected by Drake Software. Generally, the taxpayer or their representative will need to contact the Business and Specialty Tax Line at (800) 829-4933 to discuss any issues with the account.
The IRS website offers guidance on what a preparer can do if they receive one of these errors in a prior tax year.

Text of rule: The return type indicated in the return header must match the return type established with the IRS for the EIN.
The return type filed is not the return type the IRS has on its records for this organization. For example, an S corporation still listed as a regular Corporation in the IRS database (and vice-versa) would cause this reject.
Troubleshooting for this reject:
-
You can change the return type listed on the return and resubmit it.
-
Go to screen 1 and review the organization's name and EIN. If the organization's name and EIN are correct, contact the IRS at (877) 829-5500.

Text of rule: Filer's EIN and Name Control in the Return Header must match data in the e-File database.
The IRS recommends the following if the return rejects because of a name control mismatch:
-
Ensure that the Employer Identification Number (EIN) is correct. Review your data entry on screen 1.
-
Review the rules in the Business Name Control matrix. These rules can be found at Using the Correct Name Control in e-filing Corporate Tax Returns.
-
If you get a reject because of an EIN/Name Control mismatch, please call the e-Help Desk at 1 (866) 255-0654 and follow the prompts for assistance.

Text of rule: Form 7004, the tax year ending date ('TaxPeriodEndDt' specified in the Return Header) must match the data in the e-file database unless one of the check boxes in Line 5b - "Initial Return", "Final Return" or "Consolidated return to be filed" is checked.
Troubleshooting for this reject:
-
If this is the initial year or final year of the organization, go to screen 1 (Name, Address, General Info) and mark either the Initial return or Final return check box. If this is not the initial or final year of the organization, review the Fiscal year ends date on screen 1. The tax year ending date entered on screen 1 does not match what the IRS has on its records for this organization.
