Overview

Export Client/EF Data is used to export Client Files and EF Database files to a comma delimited text file (TXT) or a comma separated value (CSV) file.

To access this option, go to Tools > File Maintenance > Export Client/EF Data.

Exporting Client Data Files

  1. Select Export client data files – Choose this option to export all client data files. Files cannot be individually chosen.

  2. Select Export to CSV if you want the file exported as a comma separated value, otherwise the file exports as a text file.

  3. Select Include test returns if you want to include test items in this export.

  4. Enter a Path\File name for exported data (location). The program supplies a default location or you can enter your own.

  5. Click Continue. The program exports the files. When the export is finished, the program displays a message advising the number of files written to the export location.

  6. Click Exit. Once the data is exported, it can be viewed in a standard editing program; such as Notepad or Microsoft Excel.

Exporting EF Data Files

  1. Select Export e-file data files – Choose this option to export all e-filing data files.

  2. Select Export to CSV if you want the file exported as a comma separated value, otherwise the file exports as a text file.

  3. Select Include test returns if you want to include test items in this export.

  4. Enter Path\File name for record layout (location). The program supplies a default location or you can enter your own.

  5. Click Continue. The program exports the files. When the export is finished, the program displays a message advising the number of files written to the export location.

  6. Click Exit. Once the data is exported, it can be viewed in a standard editing program; such as Notepad or Microsoft Excel.
