Drake Tax – Republic: 10-Day Time Limit for Printing Checks

You have 10 days from a check authorization to print the check.
Republic Bank sends an initial “check clear” record to the ERO’s database ten days after the check authorization acknowledgment. If you have not already printed the check, this initial check clear record will prevent you from printing it until Republic reissues a check acknowledgment and you download and process it. The reissue is not automatic; you will have to request this from Republic Bank.
The initial check clear record has no effect on a check that has been printed. It does not interfere with cashing it. After the taxpayer cashes the check, Republic releases a final check clear record for the actual check clearance. The final record updates the ERO’s database.
This is a good time to review your office routine to make sure your checks are timely printed.
Note The 10-day check clear acknowledgment removes the check from your list of checks available to print (EF > Check Print) as well as from your online database Check report for unprinted or uncleared checks. If you think this may have happened, review the SSN for the check in your EF database (EF > Search EF Database). If the EF record shows that your client has received a check acknowledgment followed in ten days by a check clear acknowledgment, and you haven’t printed the check, you should contact Republic Bank at (866) 491-1040 to discuss a re-issuance of the check acknowledgment.
