You can e-file the Kansas Homestead Claim, however, Form K-40H (Kansas Homestead Claim) cannot be transmitted by itself. It is automatically transmitted with Form K-40 (Kansas Individual Income Tax), which must be e-filed either with the federal return, or after the federal return is e-filed and accepted.

If there are any federal EF Messages that prevent federal e-filing, you cannot e-file Form K-40/K-40H for that taxpayer. An example is someone who is not reporting any income (federal EF Message 0192).
