Deadline Reminders
e-File all finished returns by midnight local time. Drake Software strongly suggests that you e-file several hours before the deadline to ensure a timely filing. See Drake Tax – e-Filing a Return for detailed steps.
If more time is needed, file an extension. You can now generate extensions in a batch. Remember that an extension does not provide more time to pay any amount due. See Drake Tax – Batch Extensions for details.
Check for pending acknowledgments to ensure that the returns are transmitted successfully. See Drake Tax – Return Status: Checking Acknowledgments for details.
Verify that all returns and extensions are accepted by the IRS or State. If a return is rejected, it must be corrected within the perfection period, or it is considered to be a late filing. See Drake Tax – Return Due Dates and Deadlines for details.
Solutions for common rejects are available in the Knowledge Base. See Drake Tax - Top Federal Rejects for details.
