How to prepare and file the NY MCTMT

The Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT) filing requirements state that the taxpayer must file the IT-203-A to report the MCTD portion of the business income.

How it is filed and when it is due

NY requires all individual MCTMT payments and return information to be made with personal income tax payments and returns. MCTMT due dates are now the same as the personal income tax due dates.

Where to enter the information in the software

Required Data Entry - NY screen 9

  1. Complete a separate screen for each MCTD business.

  2. Enter the applicable TS code (T=Taxpayer, S=Spouse).

  3. Check the box Business allocation for: as MCTD.

  4. Complete Schedules A and/or B (lines 1 – 6), if needed.

  5. Line 10 (Required) - Enter the Net earnings from self-employment.

  6. Complete the remainder of the screen, if needed.
