How to create a Missouri MO-PTC without Form 1040
Some Missouri residents may be eligible to receive a property tax credit, even if they are not required to file Form MO-1040.
Note This produces a stand-alone form that must be paper-filed.
To produce an MO - PTC for Property Tax or Homestead Preservation Credit:
-
Go to States > MO and open screen PTC.
-
At the top of the PTC screen, select the MO-PTC (mail only; income can't be negative) option.
-
If the taxpayer is less than 65 years of age, he or she must otherwise qualify. Select a box under Qualifications:
-
100% disabled veteran (taxpayer or spouse)
-
100% disabled (taxpayer or spouse)
-
60 years of age or older and receiving surviving spouse benefits (PTS and PTC only)
-
-
In the Property Tax Credit section, there must be an amount in line 11 (PTS) or line 9 (PTC) Real Estate Tax Paid.
The taxpayer must be a MO resident.
Tip If Form MO - PTC is not produced, you can select Force print of form even if not qualified and review the form to determine why it was not automatically produced.
