Drake Tax – OR: Form OR-VSI, Voluntary Self-Identification

Oregon has released a new form for 2024 called the OR VSI, or Voluntary Self-Identification of Race and Ethnicity. For more information about this form, go to Oregon.gov.

In Drake Tax, OR EF Message 0166 generates prompting you to either complete the VSI screen or check the box to opt out of filing Form OR-VSI for the taxpayer, and spouse (if present).

• If the taxpayers provide race or ethnicity information, Form OR-VSI is generated in View/Print mode for each spouse.

• If the taxpayers do not wish to provide this information, Form OR-VSI is not generated in View/Print mode, but the state is notified that they opted out when the return is e-filed.

If the taxpayer does not have to file an Oregon return, they can choose to provide this information online at https://revenueonline.dor.oregon.gov/tap/_/#1. If they are filing an Oregon return, they should not complete the form online.
