Create and file

For filing to the Florida Department of Revenue (DOR), DAS produces:

  • A PDF copy of Form RT-6, Employer's Quarterly report, and Form RT-6A, Employer's Quarterly Report Continuation Sheet.

  • A .txt file for e-file.

Note  The wage data must be filed and the tax paid electronically if there are 10 or more employees in any quarter during the preceding state fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Employers that are required to file the wage data electronically must also file any corrections to the wage data electronically.

To prepare the RT-6:

  • Select the Employees or On the Fly menu, then select State Tax & Wage Forms.

  • Make sure FL is selected, then select RT-6 from the Forms droplist.

  • Select the applicable quarter.

  • Make sure the e-File checkbox is marked (if e-filing), then select Save/Print.

Save/Print creates a PDF copy of the form that can be printed and paper-filed. If e-File was marked, a .txt file for upload to the Florida Reemployment Website is also created.

To e-file:

  • Log in to the FL Reemployment Website.

  • Follow the menu options to upload the wage file.

  • The file for upload can be found by browsing to the drive where DAS is installed > DrakeAccounting20YY > DAS20YYData (beginning in DAS2021) > Clients > client code > EFile > FL > FLRT6 and selecting the file named FLRT6_YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC.txt (where YYYY-MM-DD_HR_MIN_SEC is the date and time of file creation).

For more information about Florida reporting and payment, see the FL DOR Reemployment Tax Reporting and Payment Information webpage.

Florida's E-Verify Certification

Florida statute requires that all employers with 25 or more employees and all public agencies use E-Verify to validate that newly hired employees are eligible for employment within the United States. E-Verify is an application that allows employers to quickly and easily verify a new hire’s eligibility to work in the United States.

For more detailed information, see their website and open the menu on E-Verify. This information is used when filling out Florida's quarterly Form RT-6.
