Drake User Manager

Once you have purchased Drake Tax Online, you will receive an email with the order confirmation and a link to set up your Drake User Account (SSO). The link will have a place to enter the following information:

• email address,

• first and last name,

• security questions and answers,

• a secure password.

Log In

After setting up your SSO login, you can log in to the Drake Tax Online dashboard by going to the Drake User Manager and clicking on the DTO tile.

Once you are logged in to your Drake Tax Online dashboard, select the applicable tax year in the drop list and click on the launch icon. This will redirect you to the year-specific version of Drake Tax Online.

Use the Recent, Find, or Create buttons to find or create returns. You can create a test return without using one of your purchased returns - see Drake Tax Online - Creating a Return for details.

Click Exit to return to theDrake Tax Online dashboard where you can manage your account, review your return balance and history, or launch a different tax year.

Return Balance

Go to Tools > Return Balance and History to track your available return balance, view past purchases, and usage details. Select the tax year from the drop down, then filter the details by return type (Individual or Business).

Years Available

The current tax year and previous four tax years are available (if purchased). For example, in the 2025 filing season, tax years 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021 are available in the drop list. If you are missing one of these years, you may need to purchase access or have your account admin add you as a preparer for that year.
