Alabama EF Message 0001 or 0029 may generate indicating that the federal IDS screen has not been completed correctly. To clear either of these messages, go to the federal IDS screen and complete the required fields for taxpayer and/or spouse (if married filing jointly). If there is no expiration date listed on the available identification, the return must be paper filed.
Note If the identification is issued by the state of Alabama, the number needs to be exactly 7 characters in length.
