How to clear EF Message 5443

EF Message 5443 generates when there is either missing or invalid data entered on a 4562 screen. The missing or invalid items may also prevent depreciation from being calculated for those assets. Check the following items on the 4562 screens.

Date Acquired

You will need to enter a specific date acquired for each asset. You cannot use VARIOUS in the Date Acquired field on screen 4562. The date acquired must be within the current or a previous tax year. Future dates will be ignored as they are not applicable to the current return.

Incomplete Information

If you have opened a 4562 screen and begun typing information, then erased the information (rather than deleting the screen with Ctrl + D) or forgotten to remove an entry, this message may also generate. Open the empty screen and delete it.
