How to clear EF Message 2409

EF Message 2409 on a 1040 indicates that an invalid depreciation method has been entered for an asset. "AMT - Amortization" is not a valid depreciation method for an asset when "27.5" years or "30.5" years or more are entered in the "Life" field.

If the Depreciation Method and Life fields are correct, verify that no Property Type is listed, as property type is not allowed when AMT - Amortization is selected as the depreciation method.

To clear this message, return to screen 4562 Depreciation Detail and enter a valid depreciation method.
